Description:  Honey Myrtle is a native Western Australian oil and a cousin of the oil Lemon Myrtle and used very much the same way.  It is steam distilled from its creamy white flowers, leaves and twigs and produces a clear to yellow oil.  Its lovely aroma is honey-citrusy due to its high citral content and a middle to top note.  Citral is a chemical component with powerful antimicrobial properties.  A fast growing small to medium shrub with fine needle like foliage.  It’s honey-scented creamy white globular flower-heads bloom along the branches in spring.  Its flowers are usually white, but pink and mauve forms exist as well.

This lovely honey-citrusy essential oil is prized for its powerful antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, sedative, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory properties.  

Some aromatherapy uses:  Helps to relieve muscle soreness and joint pain; supportive to the respiratory and immune systems by reducing airborne threats; kill household germs; and remove unpleasant room smells.  Beneficial for skin issues such as acne, cuts, burns, and minor infections. The essential oil contains citral, citronellol, geraniol, cineole, limonene, and linalool, among others. Always use diluted on skin and avoid contact with mucous membranes.
