Calendula officinalis, a medicinal herb, is known as the common herb, or pot marigold, and has been used for centuries by herbalists.  Calendula has bright orange or yellow daisy-like flowers with narrow pale green leaves and its colors looks good in the garden.  The leaves and the flowers are utilized for its healing properties.  It is reputed to have antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and regenerating properties, and extremely beneficial in wound healing. Calendula Herbal Infused Oil (also known as a macerated oil) is infused in extra virgin olive oil.  This remarkable oil is made by a gentle infusion of the Calendula flowers in a base oil of extra virgin olive oil to extract its medicinal properties.  Other carrier oils like Sunflower, Sweet Almond, or Grapeseed oil can be used for infusions. It becomes an excellent salve even for serious burns, bruises, scalds, cuts and diaper rash. Calendula Oil is used in preparations for creams, ointments, tinctures, cosmetics, shampoo and baby wipes. Calendula oil is a versatile oil when used for dry and damaged skin, skin inflammations, rashes, diaper irritations, and is exceptional for those with sensitive skin and many other skin disorders. It has soothing and skin softening properties, and is considered a good choice when preparing a massage oil blend with other carrier oils and essential oils.

Carrier Oil:  Can be used pure AND can be mixed with other carrier oils.
Tinctures: 1:10 dried flower prepared with 70% ethanol
Creams & Ointments: Max of 15% Calendula Oil
Compresses: Tincture diluted 3 - 10 times with water
Poultices: Tincture diluted 3 - 10 times with water
