Origin: Australia
Family: Myrtaceae
Process: Steam distilled – Leaves and twigs

Description: A tall evergreen tree that can grow as tall as 100 feet with thick pointed leaves and white flowers.  Found in Australia, Indonesia, Java, Malaysia and the Philippines.  The whitish bark is spongy and flakes off easily. Also known as White Tea Tree, Swamp Tea Tree or Paperbark Tree.  The leaves and twigs are steam distilled, producing a pale yellow-green essential oil. It’s aroma is milder but similar to Eucalyptus with the penetrating camphor-like aroma due to its cineol constituent.  Widely used for colds, flu, viral infections, insect bites, oily skin, headaches, throat infections, toothaches, sore and aching muscles, fevers, and rheumatism.
