Description: This sturdy evergreen shrub or tree is a member of the Myrtle family and known as the West Indian Bay tree. The ancient Greeks considered myrtle sacred to the goddess Aphrodite and used it in festivals. It has a powerful, spicy, sweet aroma with a distinctive clove note.
