Arnica Herbal Infused Oil, (Arnica montana), (also known as a macerated oil), has been used medicinally for centuries.  Traditionally used for muscle aches and pains, joint pain, bruises, sprains, arthritis, insect bites and wound healing.  It is reputed to have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, helps to relieve pain and swelling, absorbs well and is soothing to the skin.  This amazing oil is made by a gentle infusion of the Arnica montana flowers in a base oil of extra virgin olive oil to extract its medicinal properties.  Other carrier oils like Sunflower, Sweet Almond, or Grapeseed oil can be used for infusions. Arnica oil is a good choice to create products such as creams, lotions, balms, salves, massage oils and numerous other specialty skin care products.  Below are some guidelines for using Arnica oil.

Carrier Oil:  Arnica Montana, should not be used pure without dilution.  It should always be diluted in a 30/70 solution (use at least 70% or more of another 100% carrier oil like almond or grapeseed).
Tinctures: 1:10 dried flower prepared with 70% ethanol
Creams & Ointments: 20 - 25% tincture or a maximum of 15% Arnica Oil
Compresses: Tincture diluted 3 - 10 times with water
Poultices: Tincture diluted 3 - 10 times with water
